Life has a funny way of sneaking up on you. Whether it’s getting to the taxes that you filed an extension for, touching up the roots on your do, or finally getting the house painted after many years of hemming and hawing about costs and colors…time marches on.
So with no excuses, only time passing, I am back to my blog here at mixingreality.
For about 18 months I wrote a weekly column at EcoSalon, a blog I created for a client many years ago. The column was called heARTbeat, and weekly, I attempted to create a connection between art and conscious living/thinking; the editorial direction of the publication. My editors gave me full rein, and I thoroughly enjoyed this weekly exercise. Though the publication continues, my team published their last posts, and my weekly ritual ended.
I also took a full time gig as a content strategist/director/curator for a digital agency, and mixingreality soon took a backseat to that thing called life.
At times, I wondered what would become of my baby. After all, mixingreality reflects some of my work. People referred to my writing and curation as a reason to know and work with me…such neglect.
So I’m back. I’ve reassessed the way I will mix it up here. We shall see where it goes. But for now here are a few things I’ve noticed and want to share with you.

Happy to see Apple attempting to breathe new life into their brand from other design paths. Veuve, we love you cold and eco. And Miranda July, your quirky, contemporary take on life and art always makes us smile.
Happy Summer, my friends. I look forward to seeing you here more often. 🙂
